Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. Her work has been recognized by film producers for roles like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her and an Oscar. Her career in acting started in Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway and Off Broadway assignments. Acting has always been her love of life. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller. She was born deaf in the one ear after suffering from mumps but did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actor. While in college, she took classes in theatre after which she moved to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut following a chance encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get the film role she wanted to appear in. The role of a supporting actress was added to her resume for her in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of television series and movies over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
