Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. In her early years she began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. In her early years, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year production. She became deaf in one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen her determination to become an actress. When she was in college studying drama and moving into New York City with her plans to achieve them. Hunter had her Broadway debut due to an unplanned conversation with Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move from Los Angeles. In the last three decades, she has appeared on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
